The current population is 54. Tomorrow, the last flight is coming and taking the last six summer passengers and then we will not see another flight for eight and a half months no matter what happens. In the past week the population dropped from 135. It has been nice to have less people and not have rooms constantly reserved or in use. Plus, we have already become a big family. I am looking forward to a great winter!
We have about two more months of constant sunlight as the sun slowly moves closer to the horizon. After the sun sets, we will have six months of complete darkness (besides the many stars and sometimes very bright moon) until almost September when the sun starts to come back up. During the winter we will get temps down to -100f, which sometimes last for many days.
