While setting up for Thanksgiving dinner, I noticed a basler was near the tourist warming hut with people outside taking pictures at the ceremonial pole. I asked about it later and was told that they had called the station that morning to say they were coming and asked for a station tour. They do not allow tours on holidays, so the private plane had flown all the way to Pole to take pictures outside and fly all the way back to where they came from. So, for any of you who want to come visit feel free! A private flight costs between $40,000-$50,000 and you cannot be in the station more than two hours. You will have a tour guide the whole time and you are only allowed to walk through the main halls. It is good, because there would be a lot of tourists wanting to go in work centers and it is a big liability. The better option would be to apply for a job here and get to spend a whole season.
